Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management (Flexible Hybrid in Chicago, IL)
Cboe Global Markets is a leading provider of market infrastructure and tradable products that power the global economy. The Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management reports to the Chief Risk Officer and leads the risk culture and resilience across the organization.
Role Overview In this role, you will define and advance Cboe’s risk strategy, strengthen our three lines of defense, and mature enterprise risk management processes. Your strategic vision, cross‑functional collaboration and deep expertise in risk frameworks will influence the organization’s risk‑aware culture.
Responsibilities
Drive the risk management framework implementation and ongoing maintenance within the U.S.
Collaborate closely with the business and other control function leaders to ensure an integrated three lines of defense.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, shaping risk strategy and embedding risk principles into business planning and execution.
Prepare and present regular risk dashboards, reports, and insights to senior management, advising on emerging trends and issues.
Maintain knowledge of current and emerging best practices, including regulatory expectations.
Collaborate with the business to develop meaningful KPIs and KRI, enabling data‑driven risk management and performance optimization.
Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management throughout the organization.
The Ideal Candidate
10+ years of progressive experience in risk management.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Deep knowledge of risk management principles and practices.
Experience in a Systemically Important Financial Institution or Systemically Important Financial Market Utility.
Exceptional problem‑solving skills and the ability to interpret complex data to identify actionable insights.
Strong presentation and communication skills, able to convey complex risk framework components concisely to diverse audiences.

Within the range, pay is determined by location, job‑related skills, experience, and education.
Location Headquarters is located in the historic Old Post Office district in downtown Chicago, featuring natural light, panoramic city views, and convenient access to major transit hubs. The building includes restaurants, a fitness center and collaborative workspaces.
