Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist – Stamford Health
The Department of Psychiatry at Stamford Health seeks a full‑time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join an innovative program for treating pediatric patients in emotional and behavioral crisis. Stamford Health will open one of the first pediatric Emergency Psychiatry Assessment, Treatment, and Healing (EmPATH) units in the nation, complemented by a 12‑week outpatient crisis stabilization program. This role is 50% EmPATH unit‑based and 50% outpatient office‑based.
Typical hours are Monday–Friday 9 am to 5 pm. No required call or weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on the EmPATH unit in the Emergency Department.
Deliver outpatient crisis psychiatric management to patients discharged from the EmPATH unit for up to 12 weeks.
Supervise and teach nursing and ancillary staff and trainees assigned to the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry service.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including emergency medicine, pediatrics, nursing, psychiatric techs, therapists, case managers, receptionists/schedulers, and outpatient office staff.
Coordinate patient flow between the emergency department, EmPATH unit, and outpatient crisis program.
