Position: Perm - Physician - Gastroenterology
Location: Jackson, MI
Overview:
Henry Ford Jackson Division of Gastroenterology is actively seeking a highly qualified Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Gastroenterologist with ERCP certification to join our innovative and expanding gastrointestinal (GI) hospital program. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a forward-looking department supported by a dedicated clinical and administrative team, within a vibrant healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services, including patient rounds, clinic consultations, and procedures.
  • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures, including ERCP, with support from a hospital-owned endoscopy center located on the hospital campus.
  • Manage a diverse patient population with a balance of clinic and hospital-based care, with an average of approximately one clinic day per week, supported by advanced practice providers (APPs).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including APPs and other specialists, to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up.
  • Opportunities for teaching and academic involvement through the Grand Medical Education (GME) program for providers interested in education and research.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of gastroenterology practices, adhering to the organization s business protocols and quality metrics.
  • Maintain active board certification and participate in credentialing and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Medical degree and completion of fellowship in Gastroenterology.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (must obtain certification within one year).
  • ERCP certification is required.
  • 5-8 years of post-training GI practice preferred, excluding residency and fellowship training.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Demonstrated competence in complex endoscopic procedures and outpatient management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and business practices.
  • ITIL, PMP, or industry certifications are preferred.
  • Eligible to work in the United States; H1B candidates are encouraged to apply. J1 candidates are not eligible.
  • Candidates must be committed to maintaining certification and licensure requirements.
