Title : Staff Accountant
Compensation : $60-70K annual salary plus benefits
Position Overview and Responsibilities
Reporting to the CFO, this role provides crucial support to the Finance Department by ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tasks, regular follow‑up with internal and external constituents, and responding to inquiries made to the department. This role collaborates closely with the finance team to execute bookkeeping practices, budget processes, financial record maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, and general accounting tasks.
Process vendor invoices in Bill.com
Track and enter invoice information into the Expenses Tracking document.
Manage timely processing of accounts payable invoices and check preparation.
Identify and process incoming payments by handling all office mail, scanning invoices and checks, and monitoring the bank account.
Reconcile and manage various corporate accounts and platforms, including Amazon Business, Divvy, Bill.com, Amalgamated Bank, Home Depot, and US Foods.
Organize and process employee reimbursements, contractor and per diem payments, and benefit contributions.
Research and resolve questions related to expenses and revenues in a timely manner.
Respond to staff questions regarding invoices, outgoing payments, and budgets.
Communicate with vendors to resolve issues with payments and fees.
Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in finance or accounting
Solid experience with A/P and A/R
Willingness to assist with Human Resources and Corporate Development tasks (~15 hours per week)
Proficiency in core office systems, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
Strong detail‑orientation, analytical skills, and ability to follow established processes.
