Position Overview Unique opportunity to work in a high visibility/high impact environment with the Department of Transportation’s Office of the Secretary. This role will facilitate and provide daily assistance to the OST Records Management Office and the Departmental Records Management Officer (DRMO) in managing all aspects of records life‑cycle support—record inventories, record scheduling, training, policy and procedures, and records disposals/transfers—to ensure the management and preservation of authentic and reliable agency records. The analyst will provide expert recommendations for managing OST’s records in compliance with all Federal and DOT guidance.
Responsibilities
Review, verify, update, and maintain a listing of the current OST records inventories, transfers, and destructions in a consolidated electronic format.
Revise and update/develop records retention schedules.
Maintain a list of all OST Record Retention Schedules and update as changes occur.
Maintain a master listing of all OST’s permanent records and coordinate update annually.
Identify and separate records and non‑records, duplicate records, and electronic records; organize records and compile box/inventory lists.
Prepare and assist with the transfer of both temporary and permanent records to NARA in a wide variety of acceptable formats.
Manage all ongoing record transfers, dispositions, and FRC inventory holdings.
Use ARCIS for transferring records to the FRC and/or performing record requests.
Use the NARA ERA system.
Scan any files that cannot be shipped hardcopy to either OST or NARA due to light volume and create associated inventory/box list.
Participate in annual records clean‑up day and awareness week.
Facilitate monthly RLO meetings.
Prepare minutes for Federal, DOT and OST Records Management meetings.
Prepare and maintain a SharePoint list of fiscal year record transfer and destruction goals for each OST Program Office.
Assist Program Offices in the capture of system records for transfer to NARA in NARA‑approved format requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience.
MS Office skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Pay Transparency The salary range for this role is $61,350–$78,500 USD. QinetiQ US considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, associated responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
