MC Quality Inspector - B Crew
Location: Sumter, SC
Overview Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a MC Quality Inspector - B Crew. Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 3:00pm-1:00am. Hourly rate: $19.00 per hour, plus variable incentive program.
What You’ll Do The Switchboard Inspector verifies correct wiring, components, and program controllers, and conducts electrical testing of switchboard products and components following applicable test procedures and/or component literature, with the goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.
Essential Functions
Inspect and test Hi-Pot switchboard product produced on all lines according to inspection instructions, documented in a checklist.
Use Hi-Pot, continuity, device testing to verify switches, circuit breakers, and torqued connections per inspection instructions.
Examine and verify mating structures to ensure completion and problem‑free field installation.
Ensure revisions released to production floor regarding functionality and customer specifications are incorporated, documentation is current, and previous revisions are not used.
Include component literature and necessary product documentation with the job.
Document and communicate non‑conformances, verify required rework, and communicate design errors for continuous improvement.
Identify suspect product to prevent unintended use.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Sumter facility will be considered.
No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefit is offered for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Switchboard experience including bus assembly or wiring.
Knowledge of Lean concepts.
Associate’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics.
Skills
Knowledge of basic electricity, current flow, and component functionality.
Knowledge of assembled SWBD product designs.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of Eaton systems such as Enovia, DMM, POM, AS400, MQ1.
Knowledge of applicable UL, NEC, regional utility, customer-specific codes.
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documents.
Attention to detail and multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment.
High accountability and ability to operate under high pressure and expectations.
