FAR INSPECTIONS
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in the Reno, NV area. Independent contractors will earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but you must effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection takes 5‑6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile app.
Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you will pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you will earn the equivalent of
$30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on the county—urban or rural—you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month while working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties have higher rates, and higher‑volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
