Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Engineer I, ANS

at

Accenture

Join Accenture's Infrastructure & Capital Projects team to build the factories, grids, transit systems, and public infrastructure that keep communities moving. You’ll analyze power systems, develop design projects, validate ADMS applications, and support advanced distribution automation solutions. Work with project managers, engineers, technologists, and strategists to transform how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed.

Responsibilities

Perform power systems analysis such as short‑circuit duty analysis, capacity analysis, reliability, protection, voltage impact and power factor studies.

Analyze distribution power systems for voltage impacts, harmonics, or overloading issues using power flow software (e.g., CYME or PSLF).

Evaluate load profiles to determine acceptable penetration levels of distributed generation at different locations.

Determine overhead and underground cable sizes and types based on ampacities, circuit topology, mutual heating effects, etc.

Develop scope and design projects based on power system analysis, planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of distribution networks.

Review and update electrical maps and drawings, identify mapping discrepancies.

Analyze Rule 21 applications for interconnecting generation.

Perform technical reviews to ensure safe, reliable interconnection to the utility’s grid and compliance with standards.

Validate ADMS applications through functional and performance testing under various grid scenarios.

Support acceptance testing and model validation activities for ADMS projects.

Perform power system analysis using ADMS tools such as DPF, BLA, LVM, and FLISR to evaluate operational performance.

Participate in hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and simulation‑based testing to verify feeder automation logic and restoration workflows.

Contribute to optimization of ADMS functionalities including FLISR, Volt/VAR control, CVR, and DER integration under guidance of senior engineers.

Analyze test results, document findings, and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with operational standards.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues and support deployment of advanced distribution automation solutions.

Work remotely, at client sites, or in an Accenture office as required.

What You’ll Need

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering degree with related experience.

1–3 years of relevant professional experience.

Professional proficiency in Python programming.

Bonus Points

Master’s degree in electrical engineering.

Educational coursework in power flow, proficient understanding of circuit maps, experience with modeling software, system protection, interconnection projects, or facility infrastructure maps.

Compensation

$70,000 – $75,000 per year. Compensation varies by location, role, skill set, and experience.

Work location is a mix of remote, onsite at client sites, or Accenture offices.

Accenture accepts applications on an ongoing basis; there is no fixed deadline.
