Job Summary

Research Data Analyst

Assist with organizing and analyzing research data, ensuring accuracy and integrity. Perform data entry and prepare basic visualizations and reports using software such as Excel or Tableau. Support team efforts by maintaining datasets, performing quality checks, and documenting processes. Collaborate with senior analysts to learn and implement statistical methods for research projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Lead under the guidance of the PI, qualitative data collection activities, including semi-structured interviews and focus groups, with the assistance of an undergraduate research assistant and research volunteers
  • Lead coding and analysis of qualitative data under the guidance of the PI
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of grants and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and amendments to ensure ethical conduct of qualitative research studies.
  • Participate in other tasks needed to support research projects that align with individual interests and strengths.
  • Prepare and contribute to scientific presentations, abstracts, and manuscripts for conferences and peer-reviewed publications
  • Support participant study enrollment and informed consent processes.
  • Support qualitative data management using platforms such as REDCap.
  • Knowledge in vision screening to detect eye disorders such as amblyopia, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, as well as general ophthalmology or optometric clinical care practices, a plus (but not required).

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Research Data Analyst I: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.

Research Data Analyst II: Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Research Data Analyst III : Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
