Senior Unity XR Engineer
who can bridges creativity and engineering — ensuring that immersive, real‑time experiences built in Unity are not only visually powerful, but scalable, stable, and performant across platforms.
What you’ll do As a
Senior Unity XR Engineer , you’ll lead the design, architecture, and development of advanced AR and VR applications that merge technology, storytelling, and cultural heritage. You’ll take ownership of the technical vision, guiding the evolution of our XR pipeline while mentoring developers and collaborating closely with artists, designers, and AI specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Architect and implement complex XR features and interaction systems using
Unity (C#) ,
AR Foundation ,
OpenXR , and
Meta SDKs .
Define technical standards, performance benchmarks, and reusable frameworks for scalable cross-platform XR development.
Lead code reviews, guide best practices, and mentor junior engineers in both technical and creative problem-solving.
Development & Optimization
Develop advanced XR mechanics, UI interactions, and real‑time simulation systems.
Apply
3D mathematics, physics, and matrix transformations
to deliver precise spatial interactions and realistic user experiences.
Profile and optimize
rendering, shaders, and performance for mobile and headset devices
(Meta, HTC, Apple Vision Pro).
Cross-disciplinary Collaboration
Work closely with
3D artists, AI developers, UX designers, and archaeologists
to translate cultural stories into interactive XR environments.
Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders — including clients, partners, and cultural institutions.
Support demos, technical presentations, and integration with third‑party systems.
Innovation & Delivery
Experiment with
AI‑driven or procedural XR systems
that push the boundaries of interactivity and realism.
Support CI/CD pipelines on
Azure, AWS, or GCP , ensuring efficient build automation and versioning.
Contribute to Agile planning, sprint reviews, and long‑term product architecture discussions.
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in
Computer Science, Software Engineering , or a related field.
4+ years of professional Unity experience , with at least
3 years in XR (AR/VR/MR)
production and 6 XR proven projects.
Expert knowledge of
C# ,
Unity Engine ,
and XR frameworks
(AR Foundation, XR Interaction Toolkit, OpenXR, Meta SDK).
Strong applied mathematics:
3D geometry, vector calculus, linear algebra, kinematics .
Proven track record delivering
high‑performance XR applications
to production.

Analytical mindset, problem‑solving grit , and the ability to explain complex ideas to both engineers and non‑tech stakeholders.
· Confident
English communication skills for demos, technical sales calls and supplier negotiations.
