Position Overview We are hiring a Tax & Estate Attorney with approximately 3–5 years of experience and a strong background in advanced estate, income tax, and trust administration matters. This full-time position has opened due to growth within the department and offers exceptional opportunities for professional development and long-term career advancement.

1,500–1,600 annually

Remote (Orange County preferred; one in-office day per week required)
Compensation:
$170,000 – $190,000 base (DOE) + Merit-Based Bonus Program
Key Responsibilities The Tax & Estate Attorney will handle a sophisticated mix of estate and tax planning matters, including:
Advising on advanced estate, gift, and income tax planning strategies, including wealth-transfer structure, business succession planning and tax-efficient entity structuring.
Drafting and structuring revocable living trusts, irrevocable gift trusts, and advanced transfer instruments, including GRATs, IDGTs, and SLATs.
Managing trust administration matters for high-net-worth clients, including interpretation of trust terms, fiduciary guidance, and beneficiary communications.
Conducting legal research and preparing technical memoranda on tax and estate issues.
Reviewing and overseeing fiduciary, gift, and related trust tax compliance, and coordinating with tax preparers and advisors.
Handling non-probate estate administration, including identifying, validating, and coordinating the transfer of beneficiary-designated and jointly-titled assets outside of probate or trust proceeding.
Collaborating with financial advisors, CPAs, and other professionals to implement integrated wealth-planning strategies.
Maintaining strong client relationships, delivering clear communication, and ensuring a high-touch client experience throughout the planning and administration process.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
California Bar admission required
3–5 years of experience in estate planning, tax planning, and trust administration
Demonstrated ability to work on advanced estate and income tax planning matters
Experience drafting and structuring a wide range of trust vehicles
Strong written and verbal communication skills; confidence interacting with high-net-worth clients
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (highly preferred)
Strong background in tax law and/or prior experience in a tax-focused legal practice
Experience in a law firm environment serving high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses
Creating and structuring business entities, including preparing and filing formation documents, drafting governing agreements, and coordinating required tax elections such as S‑corporation status
Work Arrangement
Remote role, with preference for candidates based in Orange County, California
No travel required
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $170,000 – $190,000, depending on years of experience and qualifications
