General Summary: Sensors-based technology has a wide range of applications including navigation, gaming, smart user interface, multimedia, virtual reality and augmented reality. This challenging position offers the opportunity to work with leading edge sensor technologies embedded in smartphones, automotive, IOT, smartwatches as well as other consumer electronics devices. Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D to commercial deployment. The successful candidate will work with systems, software, and integration/test engineers in the QCT sensors group.
Job Responsibilities
Design and architect comprehensive end-to-end ETL data processing pipelines: ingestion, transformation, and delivery to Data Lake.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows in production.
Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams to support development and commercialization of sensor algorithms and features.
Support data collection campaigns within Qualcomm employees in China and participate in actual field data collection campaigns.
Creation, validation, maintenance, and documentation of “training, validation and test data sets” for algorithm and feature development, including validating existing data sets, re‑purposing them with new modalities and/or creating new data sets via field and lab collects using mobile form factor devices.
Sensor feature commercialization support in form factor devices including algorithm performance validation, customer data wrangling and direct customer triage support.
The position is technology focused and involves participation in a broad range of sensors systems engineering activities within the Sensors Technologies group.
The role contains occasional travel, physical/sports activities, and handling of objects with significant weight.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field.
2+ years of experience in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform; Microsoft Graph API and Sharepoint APIs; strong programming skills with Python and Matlab on Linux and Windows; fluency with Git; digital signal processing, probability and statistics, Machine Learning; knowledge of MEMS & inertial, environmental and physiological sensors and prior experience with associated characterization equipment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; highly organized and detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
