Our Client Company is a respected structural engineering firm is seeks a Senior Structural Engineer with 5 to 10 years of Building, Design and Detailing Experience. Experience should include a wide range of building structure types including educational, industrial, commercial, mid rise and parking structures, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Ability to run projects from design through construction
Developing geometric layout of structures / perform load calculations
Designing and detailing of structural building components utilizing specialized engineering software such as MathCAD, STAAD-Pro, AutoCAD and/or REVIT
Reviewing analysis and checking design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by other engineers
Performing seismic analysis and design of building structures
Ability to interact with architects and engineers of different disciplines
Minimum Requirements:
B. S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structures (Master’s degree preferred)
S.E. License in the State of Illinois
Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience working as a structural design engineer
Knowledgeable of national building codes and design codes
Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems for all types of buildings
Proficient with MathCAD, STAAD-Pro, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AutoCAD and/or REVIT
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills
Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques
Valid driver’s license required
