Distribution Center Supervisor - Indianapolis
Position Summary: The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution center, ensuring efficient and effective management of personnel, inventory, and customer service under the direction of the DC Facility Manager. This role includes maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity within the facility.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) – Required
1-3 years of experience in distribution or warehouse processes – Preferred
Forklift and Pallet Jack Certifications – Preferred
Valid Driver's License – Required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations within the distribution center to ensure efficient workflow.
Lead, motivate, and manage a team of employees to achieve operational goals.
Delegate tasks effectively to ensure all duties are completed in a timely manner.
Communicate professionally with customers, both verbally and in writing.
Oversee inventory management, including procurement, storage, and distribution to ensure a constant supply of products.
Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documentation.
Maintain full compliance with food safety standards and other regulatory requirements.
Implement and manage the facility's safety programs and procedures.
Handle employee questions and concerns regarding policies and procedures.
Assist in controlling costs to achieve budget goals.
Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements.
Supervise and, if necessary, participate in the loading and unloading of trucks, as well as pulling orders.
Essential Skills and Abilities
Proficient in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Strong administrative and organizational skills.
Experience in food processing or distribution is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of ADP is a plus.
Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to make quick decisions.
Forklift and Pallet Jack operation proficiency.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
Always required to act professionally.
Generally exposed to a variety of temperatures, weather conditions, and sound levels.
Occasionally exposed to hazardous conditions requiring personal protective equipment.
This position is subject to MVR and/or other screenings pertinent to this position.
