Associate Counsel
Base pay range: $112,750.00- $186,550.00 per year.
Location: Remote (positions available in San Francisco, Sacramento, Concord, San Diego and Los Angeles). Travel may be required for trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial, examinations under oath, and defend by trial or dispositive hearing for all matters assigned as applicable.
Qualifications
2–6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, and/or personal injury.
Juris Doctor degree.
Admission to the California Bar and good standing to practice law in California, including compliance with mandatory CLE requirements.
Ability to travel as required for legal work.
Excellent written communication skills; capable of documenting files clearly and concisely.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multi‑tasking abilities; able to follow complex instructions and resolve conflicts.
Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
Preferred Qualifications
Civil litigation experience.
Insurance defense‑related litigation experience.
Professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and written correspondence/email.
Location – Remote Annual Salary: $112,750.00 - $186,550.00
Annual salary range is a general guideline. Final salary will be based on scope and responsibilities of the role, candidate’s experience, education and training, work location, and market considerations.
