Hernia Territory Manager - N GA

Position Overview The Hernia Territory Manager will be responsible for driving sales revenue to exceed division priorities, defining and developing new business opportunities that align with the company's goals and contribute to overall team success.

The manager will exhibit strong clinical excellence, maintain current knowledge of products, programs, and competitive landscape, and handle challenging situations promptly and creatively.

Responsibilities include frequent customer visits, product demonstrations, in‑services, and procedural observation, as well as building and maintaining constructive relationships with key accounts such as physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, hospital management, and executive hospital personnel.

Territory management will be conducted with integrity in accordance with TELA Bio’s Code of Ethics and all applicable policies, rules, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Educate physicians on the benefits to patients and hospitals of OviTex, ease of use, and appropriate technique and placement of the OviTex Hernia portfolio.

Drive sales revenue to exceed established priorities and revenue targets while defining and developing sustainable new business opportunities.

Build and maintain sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts.

Develop business plans to meet short‑term revenue objectives while optimizing longer‑term opportunities in the geographic area.

Communicate complex clinical data to assist surgeons in appropriate product selection based on patient comorbidities and wound classifications.

Maintain and update the company’s CRM database with current hospital and surgeon information in the geographic area.

Control expenses within territory budgets and manage resources according to TELA Bio guidelines and policies.

Maintain open, positive, and productive communication with the commercial team and support teams to achieve successful outcomes for hospitals, surgeons, and patients.

Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by complying with the TELA Bio Quality Policy and all documented quality processes and procedures.

Complete required information in a timely manner, including call reports, monthly results reports, and additional items as assigned.

Attend and represent TELA Bio at local, regional, and national medical conferences.

Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred; or

Minimum 3+ years of sales experience in the life science industry, preferably in the biologics space; experience in hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, or plastic/soft tissue reconstruction preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience handling biologic tissue‑based materials.

Extensive knowledge of clinical needs of physicians and mechanisms of action of host response to biologic implants.

Ability to identify new market opportunities for biologic constructs based on unmet needs of general and reconstructive surgeons.

Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work with a focus on timelines and deliverables.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to diverse audiences including employees, physicians, and key opinion leaders.

Excellent judgment and decision‑making capabilities; ability to formulate business solutions for complex challenges.

Ability to work collaboratively with various internal departments and leaders; drive results through partnership, mutual respect, and trust.

Ability to travel and attend HCP meetings, events, etc.

Compliance with all hospital compliance policies and procedures.

Field‑based role requiring frequent travel, proficiency with a PC, intermediate keyboarding skills, MS Excel, MS Word, and TELA Bio sales information systems.

Valid state‑issued driver’s license; subject to DMV and background/reference checks.

Physical Demands Ability to carry and lift product inventory up to 20 lbs; stand for a minimum of 4 hours; attend surgical procedures lasting a minimum of 4 hours; multitask in high‑pressure, changing conditions.

Working Conditions Works in a home office, hospital, HCP office, or clinical environment.

Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Frequent travel within the territory is required.

Primary Location and Travel Role is located within the desired territory.

Frequent travel within the territory is required, with up to 50% travel to meet business needs, including support of other territories, corporate meetings, and national/area sales conventions.
