Position Title: Plastic Surgery Territory Manager - Chicago, IL
Position Overview The Plastic Surgery Territory Manager will be responsible for driving penetration of TELA Bios product portfolio in the plastic and reconstructive sales revenue to exceed division priorities, define and develop new business opportunities that clearly reflect the company’s goals and contribute to overall team success. Individuals will exhibit strong clinical excellence, stay current on product, programs, and competitive knowledge. One must be able to manage challenging situations quickly, directly and without hesitation and be creative in their problem solving. Individuals will have experience in calling upon and be comfortable in hospital, office, and clinical settings. The Plastic Surgery Territory Manager will develop key relationships through frequent and routine customer visits, product demonstrations, product in-services, and procedural observation. Additionally, the Plastic Surgery Territory Manager will build and maintain constructive relationships in key accounts with physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, hospital management and executive hospital personnel. Individuals will manage their territory with integrity and in accordance with TELA Bio’s Code of Ethics and all applicable TELA Bio policies, rules, and procedures
Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Responsible for educating physicians on the benefits to patients of the Plastic Surgery Portfolio, benefits to hospitals of OviTex PRS, ease of use, and appropriate technique and placement of the Plastic Surgery Portfolio including OviTex PRS.
Drive sales revenue to exceed established priorities and revenue targets while defining and developing sustainable new business opportunities
Builds and maintains sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts
Develop business plans to ensure that short-term revenue objectives are met while longer-term opportunities are optimized in their geographic area
Communicate complex clinical data with the goal of assisting surgeon in appropriate product selection based on patient co-morbidities and wound classifications
Maintain and update the Company’s CRM database as appropriate with current hospital, surgeon information in their geographic area
Control expenses within territory budgets and manage those resources according to TELA Bio guidelines and policies
Maintains open, positive, and productive lines of communication with the Company’s commercial team and support teams to achieve successful outcomes for hospitals, surgeons and patients
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the TELA Bio Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Completes requested and required requested information in a timely manner including call reports, monthly results report, and additional items as assigned.
Attend and represent TELA Bio at local, regional, and national medical conferences.
Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferred; or
Minimum 3+ years of sales experience in the life science industry, preferably in the biologics space; experience in hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction or plastic/soft tissue reconstruction preferred

Experience handling biologic tissue-based materials
Extensive knowledge of both clinical needs of physicians and mechanisms of action of host response to biologic implants
Ability to identify new market opportunities for biologic constructs based on unmet needs of general and reconstructive surgeons
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize work appropriately with a focus on timelines and deliverables
Strong communication (written, oral and interpersonal) and presentation skills; demonstrated experience presenting to diverse audiences including, but not limited to, employees, physicians and key opinion leaders
Excellent judgment and decision-making capabilities; ability to formulate business solutions for a myriad of challenges
Ability to work collaboratively with various internal departments and leaders; ability to drive results through partnership, mutual respect and trust
Ability to travel and attend HCP meetings, events, etc.
Ability to comply with all hospital compliance policies and procedures
This position is field-based and requires frequent travel.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate level of keyboarding skills, MS Excel, MS Word, and TELA Bio’s sales information systems.
Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and will be subject to DMV and other required background/reference checks

Carry and lift product inventory up to 20 lbs.

Working Conditions This position works in a home office, hospital, HCP office or clinical environment. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate. Frequent travel within the territory is required.
Primary Location and Travel Must be located within the desired territory - Frequent travel within the territory is required. We anticipate that on an ongoing basis this role will be a field office-based position although incumbent will need to participate in face to face Corporate and Commercial leadership meetings as needed. Travel up 50% to meet the ongoing needs of the business. Travel required within Territory, in support of other Territories within the Region, and to national/area sales meetings and conventions.
