Surgical Technologist 1 (Surg Tech)

Inova Health . This Full‑Time Day Shift position is available at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts.
Anticipate the surgeon’s needs by passing instruments, sutures and other items appropriate to the procedure.
Perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases.
Select proper sterilization method for instruments/equipment and verify instruments as sterile.
Apply principles of aseptic technique.
Prepare the operating room by opening sterile supplies, instruments, and sutures based on the scheduled procedure and surgeon preference card.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.
Registered Surgical Technologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia required upon start.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent hospital and/or previous practice experience.
