Position Summary The Assistant Superintendent provides strategic leadership in the ongoing development, implementation and assessment of curriculum, instruction and assessment practices across Hinsdale Township High School District 86. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this role collaborates closely with administrative teams and certified staff to ensure continuous improvement and student access to high-quality educational opportunities that align with district priorities and state mandates. The position emphasizes instructional excellence, professional learning and effective use of data to enhance student achievement and opportunities. Additionally, the Assistant Superintendent fosters community and inter‑district partnerships, coordinates district-wide programs and initiatives and supports comprehensive professional development to increase student achievement and advance district goals.

Qualifications

Masters degree required, Doctorate preferred.

Superintendent’s endorsement required.

Valid Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal Endorsement and High School Endorsement.

5-10 years of high school and/or district level experience including: instructional leadership, curriculum development, teaching, assessment and supervisory experience.

Experience with Multilingual education programming and professional development.

Demonstrated success in developing and implementing professional learning programs for student success.

Strong knowledge of current best practices in curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Effective skills in data analysis and utilization to inform instructional decisions.

Experience with federal and state educational programs and compliance.

Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated leadership with organizational change.

Successful completion of the Illinois Evaluator Training and demonstrated experience in the evaluation and professional development of staff.

Benefits & Compensation Salary:

$170,000 - $200,000

Work Schedule 12 months/260 days

Supervisor: Superintendent – Supervises: District ML Program, Director of Summer School, and other areas as assigned.
