Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Otolaryngology (ENT) Stanford Health Care is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our outpatient Otolaryngology (ENT) team. This full‑time role supports a Rhinologist and an Otologist while managing an independent, comprehensive ENT practice across our Redwood City and Palo Alto clinics. The schedule is Monday‑Friday, 8‑hour days.
Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide of outpatient ENT conditions, including new patient visits, return visits, and pre‑ and post‑operative care.
Perform clinic‑based ENT procedures within the’s scope of practice.
Collaborate with supervising physicians and other team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
Practice independently in a fast‑paced academic outpatient environment.
Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to the specialty, according to written standardized procedures.
Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical examinations with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients, according to written standardized procedures.
Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated upon patient evaluation, according to written procedures.
Administer, order, furnish, and prescribe medications, according to written standardized procedures.
Order and collect specimens routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services.
Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable.
Obtain informed consent, as indicated.
Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork.
As directed by the supervising physician, enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the Investigational Review Board, and order the necessary tests and medications.
Assist the supervising physician in the operating room; the RN First Assistant directly assists the surgeon under the surgeon’s supervision during the intraoperative phase.
Recognize and consider age‑specific needs of patients.
Effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
Recognize situations requiring the immediate attention of a physician, and initiate life‑saving procedures when necessary.
Facilitate the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services as needed.
Facilitate collaboration between providers and coordination of community resources.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling.
Other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. (Note: NPs hired prior to March 1, 201 are not subject to this educational requirement.)
Graduate of an NP program accredited by the National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Licenses and Certifications
Nursing/RN – Registered Nurse – State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure.
NP – Nurse Practitioner.
NPF – NP Furnishing Number.
BLS – Basic Life Support.

Compensation Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $89.01 – $117.94 per hour. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
