Why Box Needs You In this role, you will work cross‑functionally with enterprise sales, solutions engineering, customer success, consulting, and marketing to establish a shared vision with our customers and help them achieve their strategic goals. As a Value Engineer, you will collaborate both internally and externally to develop business cases derived from a value‑based methodology. You will align to Box’s most strategic existing and potential customers, and will play a critical role in the development of both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Beyond working on customer engagements, you will be instrumental to scaling the Value Engineering team by driving thought leadership and developing value assets.
In this role, you will focus on business case development for net new customers as well as value realization and growth for existing customers. You will align yourself with Commercial and Enterprise sales leaders, within the US (Federal) and EMEA regions. Instrumental to success is an inquisitive, disciplined mind and the ability to hold in‑depth, value‑oriented conversations with CXOs, enterprise architects, and line‑of‑business users. Most important is a firm understanding of the impact that digital transformation has on an organization.
What You’ll Do
Proactively engage target accounts and respective account teams with Value Engineering methodology supporting both US Public Sector and EMEA based accounts
Lead the creation of value analyses for Box prospects & customers. This includes helping cross‑functional teams in discovery, facilitating customer workshops and interviews, and ultimately creating analytical models and written reports to convey findings.
Assist in the production and delivery of business cases, strategic proposals, and executive presentations
Represent the Value Engineering practice during EICs through presentations to C‑Level audiences
Enable the sales organization & supporting teams on Value Engineering offerings and tools
Collect and measure key industry metrics to establish trends and benchmarking
Travel within territory (US and EMEA) as needed
Who You Are
8+ years of experience in analytical roles – Management Consulting, Finance, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, Sales Strategy, or similar pre‑sales experience
3+ years of experience in a Value role and/or MBA is a plus
Experience supporting Federal accounts and knowledge of compliance frameworks impacting SaaS vendors serving the public sector a plus
You’re AI‑curious and technically fluent — comfortable discussing LLMs, embeddings, automation, and other AI concepts with both technical and business audiences
Domain expertise in Software as a Service (SaaS), AI and/or digital transformation
Excellent organization and communication skills
Financial modeling proficiency – strong Excel skills
Comfortable presenting in front of C‑Level audiences
Understand technologies used by enterprise IT organizations and how information flows in the context of business processes
