The Labor and Employment Law Practice Group is committed to providing comprehensive, practical, and strategic legal counsel to help its clients navigate complex labor relations and employment issues.
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated attorney with 3 to 7 years of experience to join a thriving Labor and Employment Law Practice Group in its Bay Area offices. The successful candidate will primarily serve a public sector client base while also advising private clients on employment and traditional labor matters. This position requires exceptional transactional and advisory expertise, coupled with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day legal advice and counsel to public sector and private clients on a broad spectrum of employment issues, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour compliance, discipline, and policy development.
Advise clients on traditional labor matters, including collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations, and unfair labor practice proceedings.
Manage complex transactional matters related to employment law.
Conduct legal research and analysis, preparing memoranda, opinions, and reports for clients.
Draft, review, and negotiate various employment-related agreements and documents.
(Preferred) Assist with employment litigation matters, including discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
Qualifications Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California (or eligibility to waive in).
A minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 10 years of experience practicing law.
Demonstrated experience in Labor and Employment Law.
Proven experience in Transactional legal work.
Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills are mandatory.
Preferred
Prior experience advising public sector clients (municipalities, school districts, special districts, etc.).
Prior experience in employment litigation.
