The Labor and Employment Law Practice Group is committed to providing comprehensive, practical, and strategic legal counsel to help its clients navigate complex labor relations and employment issues. Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with 2 to 10 years of experience to join our thriving Labor and Employment Law Practice Group in our Los Angeles offices. The successful candidate must have experience in
employment litigation , specifically representing clients in single-plaintiff matters. The role involves managing all phases of litigation defense for both public and private clients, with strong legal writing skills being mandatory. Experience with complex wage and hour matters, including PAGA and class action defense, is highly valued but not required. Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of employment litigation, with a primary focus on single-plaintiff defense cases (e.g., discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination). Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, dispositive motions (e.g., motions for summary judgment), and other litigation documents with exceptional quality. Conduct and defend depositions, including those of plaintiffs, experts, and percipient witnesses. Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on proactive risk management, compliance, and employment policies to prevent litigation. Conduct legal research and analysis, preparing thorough memoranda and reports related to litigation strategy and legal developments. (Preferred) Assist with complex litigation, including Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims and wage and hour class action defense. Qualifications
Required Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California (or eligibility to waive in). A minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 7 years of experience practicing law. Demonstrated employment
litigation experience , specifically managing single-plaintiff cases. Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills are mandatory. Preferred Experience with PAGA and/or class action defense. Prior experience advising public sector clients (municipalities, school districts, special districts, etc.). Experience advising on traditional labor matters (e.g., collective bargaining, grievances, arbitrations). Application
