Position Overview
The Accounting Manager possesses a thorough understanding of accounting practices and principles and is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. With exceptional attention to detail, time management skills, and project management skills, they are expected to process important data in an accurate and timely manner.
Specific Duties
Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure in accordance with GAAP
Manage and review the work of two accounting staff
Prepare monthly account reconciliations to close the books and book journal entries as needed
Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare information for CPAs for year-end taxes and review
Oversee weekly bill pay and cash flow projection processes
Manage and reconcile cased goods inventory quantities
Support with our third-party compliance service provider, including the precise and punctual handling of state tax filings, licenses, and reporting needed
Manage the timely submission of tax returns to Federal and State agencies, including the TTB, Board of Equalization, and Napa County Property Statements, ensuring compliance and accuracy
Run department budget versus actual reporting and support team leaders with details on this reporting as needed
Develop and implement strategic initiatives and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with department heads to support overall company goals and objectives
Create ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Coordinate and facilitate the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures
Monitor, follow, and enforce internal controls
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting preferred
5+ years of experience in accounting
Wine industry accounting experience is preferred
Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, Commerce 7, Stripe, Ramp, and Tipalti is preferred
Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, Excel, and e-mail
Excellent organizational, prioritization and verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, customer service, and analytical skills
Proven experience as an effective and engaged supervisor
Highly organized, while managing multiple projects and tasks associated with deadlines
Exceptional time management and attention to detail skills
Ability to work with highly confidential information with complete confidentiality and integrity
Ability to work in-person at our estate in Napa
Flexibility and willingness to embrace other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
Specific vision abilities require close and distance vision
Sit and/or stand for long periods of time
Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base annual salary range for this position is $100,000.00-$115,000.00. This salary range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. However, the actual pay rate will depend upon job-related factors such as overall qualifications, skills, experience, education, etc. The Company reserves the right to modify the range at any time.
