Position Summary The Accounting Assistant will support the Controller in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting activities. This position is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining ledgers, assisting with month‑end close, and performing other routine accounting tasks to ensure the integrity and timeliness of financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with company policies. Record and reconcile daily bank transactions and deposits. Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including invoice entry, coding, and vendor payment processing. Support Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including invoicing, cash application, and collections follow‑up. Maintain organized accounting records and ensure supporting documentation is properly filed and accessible. Assist with monthly account reconciliations and the month‑end close process. Support the Controller with audits, reports, and special projects as needed. Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal team members to resolve discrepancies. Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred). 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a winery, manufacturing, or small business environment. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP). Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and other accounting or ERP software. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in data entry. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
