The seasonal employee must meet the weekly requirement of either three 12‑hour shifts, or five 8‑hour shifts for the 13 weeks of productive time (excluding the first week of education/orientation).

Patient Population:
Advanced heart failure, left ventricular assist devices, peritoneal dialysis, cardiac surgical patients (CABG, valve, and PCI)
Patient Ratios:

Department Specifics:
34 beds; supportive management team and a culture conducive to learning; great collaboration with providers; >96.8% BSN; >27.9% certification rate; first heart transplant in 1986 and more than a thousand transplants in 36 years

Seasonal Commitment Information
Full‑time Seasonal weekly requirements:
three 12‑hour shifts for the 13‑week contract (excludes first week of orientation)
$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
$51 seasonal rate
Eligible for shift differentials: $3.50 evenings, $5 nights, $6 weekends (stackable)
Weekend requirements are the same as regular FT – rotating weekends
The first week is Monday‑Friday orientation
Although this is a short‑term (13‑week) assignment, you will be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.
Registered Nurse Requirements
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
License/Certification
RN – Registered Nurse: minimum 1 year experience (or 1+ years of critical care experience for certain openings)
BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
