Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and inventory optimization.
Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery metrics, addressing discrepancies as needed.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to understand material requirements and specifications.
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or supply.
Recommended Qualifications
3+ years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
Demonstrated strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and understand manufacturing processes.
Proven ability to identify cost reduction opportunities and optimize supply chain efficiencies.
Bonus Qualifications
Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems like SAP MM or Oracle SCM.
Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
APICS or ISM certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM).
Proven experience in international sourcing and logistics management.
