The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine seeks an Academic Pediatrician at open rank. The Division manages all areas of childcare from birth to young adulthood. Duties include patient care, teaching and supervising learners, and opportunities to be involved in clinical and basic research. Experience in an outpatient/hospital setting is preferred. A Florida medical license will be required prior to assuming the position. The physician will provide direct medical care to patients in the hospital at Tampa General Hospital, USF College of Medicine Pediatric clinics and TGH outpatient sites. The faculty will primarily cover outpatient clinics and the well‑baby nursery (no delivery room attendance). Overnight weeks of call are from home; call weeks and weekends are shared within the general pediatrics division, generally one week out of five. Responsibilities
Diagnose, treat, and prescribe for a wide range of human diseases, pain, injuries, deformities, and other physical conditions. Participate in the USF Department of Pediatrics educational and training activities, including teaching residents, medical students, and physician assistant students. Serve under a Chair or appropriate administrator, responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities, including academic advising and representing the university on committees. Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution or highest degree in the field, with a record of achievement in teaching, research, and service; meet university criteria for appointment to the appropriate rank. Hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent; maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and good standing at assigned hospitals. Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics. About Us
