The adoption of our commercial product based on vCluster has grown extremely fast (multi-million dollar revenue) and our customer base includes some of the biggest companies in the world, including 6 Global Fortune 500 companies as well as some of the fastest-growing tech unicorns.
Responsibilities
Own the Product End-to-End: responsible for the full product lifecycle—from triaging ideas, writing specs and prioritizing the roadmap to final release sign‑off after QA.
Talk to Users & Observe Support/Slack Interactions: connect regularly with platform engineers, DevOps teams, and developers to deeply understand use cases, user journeys, current challenges and future opportunities.
Dig into the Details: obsess over usability, edge cases, performance, configuration specs, CLI commands, CRDs/YAML, and docs.
Collaboration Across Functions: work closely with engineering, design, marketing and sales to publish release notes, iterate over documentation, improve customer onboarding and create other customer‑facing assets.
Set Direction, Fast: synthesize feedback, weigh tradeoffs, make hard calls quickly and move fast to ship and adopt.
Course‑Correct Quickly As Needed: adapt to new information and ecosystem changes, revise decisions, and keep stakeholders aligned.
Drive Open Source and Commercial Success: define the balance between open‑core features and paid product functionality, working with founders and GTM leadership to maximize OSS traction without sacrificing commercial success.
Requirements
Live and Breathe Kubernetes: deep knowledge of OSS technologies, multi‑tenancy, RBAC, CRDs and controllers, networking, etcd, etc.
Have Built Infra Tools Before: shipped self‑hosted, enterprise‑grade products for private cloud and air‑gapped environments.
Understand OSS Communities: know what motivates and deters open source users and the tensions open source companies face.
Think Like a Startup Founder: take ownership, cut through ambiguity, and push to finish.
Love the Craft of Product: care about UX of UI and CLI, YAML specs, readability of documentation, onboarding experience.
Thrive in a High‑Speed, Low‑Structure Environment: solve messy problems, prototype, launch, iterate quickly.
Are Relentlessly Curious: ask why, explore alternatives, challenge assumptions, understand how things work at every stack level.
