Solotech is a global leader in live productions, systems integration and virtual technology. We are looking for a U.S. Customs Import/Export Specialist to support import-export operations and ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations.

Responsibilities

Understanding of customs environment: classify products tariff, country of origin and related duty applications.

Calculate duty impact to determine the appropriate type of entry in the U.S.

Act as the primary contact for U.S. Customs operations matters.

Issue export documentation for all orders shipped out of the U.S.

Ensure weekly transfers to our Canadian division.

Demonstrate knowledge of TIB and ATA U.S. Carnets: prepare all documents and follow up to close them properly.

Assist other departments with import and export inquiries.

Verify and approve ACH preliminary report and brokerage invoices.

Collaborate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure smooth export operations.

Active participation in operational meetings and various sales to meet customs needs within the prescribed time frame according to projects.

Use the rental inventory system (R2) to update asset information and track inventory when in transit from home locations and advise management on necessary moves to remain compliant.

Collaborate and maintain policies and procedures related to import and export with Global Trade Compliance.

Perform all other related tasks within the position and responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in logistics, international business, supply chain management or equivalent qualification.

Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Licensed Customs Broker (LCB). Continuing education through NCBFAA, NEI, CUSICO or COSECO is a plus.

Minimum five (5) years of experience in logistics, import/export operations or customs clearance.

General technical knowledge of the audio-visual industry.

Knowledge of the R2 inventory software.

Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Competence in interpreting customs terminology, clearance process, customs documents and product classification (tariff codes).

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with clients, customs authorities and stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze and solve problems.

Excellent sense of priorities, schedule management and customer service skills.

Highly developed sense of organization and teamwork oriented.
