Chief Nursing Officer
This highly recognized hospital is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer to lead a dynamic nursing enterprise in a mission-driven, patient-centered environment.
The Chief Nursing Officer will join a 180-bed, Joint Commission–accredited acute care hospital within a public hospital district governance model. The organization is recognized for patient safety, evidence-based practice, and nurse engagement, with noteworthy quality and experience accolades. It offers a collaborative medical staff, strong service lines, and a culture aligned with Magnet principles.
The Chief Nursing Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serves on the executive leadership team. This role oversees nursing directors and managers across inpatient units, perioperative services, emergency services, women’s and children’s services, care management, and clinical education.
The Chief Nursing Officer partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Quality/Patient Safety, Human Resources, Finance, and physician leaders to advance organizational strategy.
Enterprise-wide, 24‑hour accountability covers all direct Patient Care Services, including ICU, Med‑Surg/Tele, Perioperative, ED, Maternal‑Child, Behavioral Health, and Ancillary Nursing. The chief leads a professional, team‑centered environment of approximately 500 FTEs serving a census of roughly 150–180 patients and a high-volume ED with tens of thousands of annual visits.
Clinically, the role advances evidence-based practice, strengthens clinical competencies, and fosters continuous learning through mentorship, shared governance, and robust education programs. It also drives quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives, ensuring accreditation readiness and performance improvement across all units.
Administratively, the Chief Nursing Officer leads strategic planning, budgeting, staffing models, workforce development, and operational efficiency. The role cultivates strong physician relations, supports service line growth, and leverages informatics and analytics to guide decision-making.
