Sr Commercial Leader
to take full ownership of a major portfolio. This highly visible role reports to senior executive leadership and carries full responsibility for strategy, customer engagement, operational performance, and P&L results.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can drive growth, lead cross‑functional teams, build strong customer relationships, and act as a true owner of the business. This person will shape long‑term direction while ensuring the business meets (and exceeds) its financial and operational goals.
What You’ll Lead
Set the long‑range vision and execution roadmap for the business unit, ensuring consistent operational performance and financial success.
Develop deep, trusted relationships with key customers and industry partners; keep the customer perspective central to decision‑making.
Guide business development activities, including strategic planning, market assessments, forecasting, and pursuit of new opportunities.
Oversee a diverse program portfolio, working closely with engineering, operations, program teams, and commercial leaders to deliver on commitments.
Champion value creation through profitable growth, disciplined pricing, and operational productivity.
Collaborate with executive leadership to address complex challenges and enhance organizational performance.
Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and transparent communication across the business unit.
Convert strategic objectives into actionable operational plans with appropriate KPIs, resource allocation, and communication cadence.
Deliver high‑impact presentations on financial results, business proposals, customer engagements, and strategic initiatives.
What Helps You Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business; an MBA is advantageous.
10+ years of leadership experience within the
Aerospace & Defense sector , including hands‑on work with business development, program leadership, engineering, and operations.
A competitive, results‑driven mindset with the ability to think like an owner and lead with strong business judgment.
Proven success in meeting financial targets and driving profitable growth.
Ability to anticipate market shifts, identify emerging opportunities, and align strategy accordingly.
Exceptional communication and executive‑level presentation skills.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to manage complex program and customer portfolios.
Experience leading in a matrixed environment, influencing across functions and levels.
Demonstrated strength in building lasting customer relationships and driving satisfaction, retention, and growth.
History of leading organizational change and enhancing employee engagement.
Experience in Program Management, Capture, and/or Proposal Leadership is highly valued.
