Purpose Directs and supports a team that is responsible for the safe, compliant, timely and on-budget execution of field services, construction, and maintenance. This includes effective project tracking, and issue & risk management in collaboration with the Engineering department. Responsible for overseeing the definition and implementation of operations & maintenance manual and associated procedures, ensuring that team members understand and consistently apply Liberty processes and standards to deliver safe and compliant operations services. Collaborate with the other Operating Companies within Liberty Utilities to drive consistency and share of best practice in the operations and design of the gas distribution systems.
Responsibilities
Provide direct oversight to multiple managers and supervisors across maintenance, construction, and metering.
Align day-to-day operations with strategic initiatives, and manage budget development, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance to O&M, Federal and State laws, local mandates, Safety and Regulatory requirements, and serve as direct liaison for the company in all aspects of communication with City & Town Municipalities.
Maintain safety as a priority of operations at all levels, achieving 100% compliance.
Maintain a safe, reliable & efficient distribution system through proper management of resources, workload, and prioritization.
Oversee core functions including field operations, emergency response, compliance, and system reliability.
Implement and execute strategic initiatives to meet expectations and performance targets.
Direct bargaining and non-bargaining personnel in all activities related to construction, maintenance, and operations for the gas pipeline system.
Provide positive leadership and direction to direct/indirect support, encouraging independent and creative decision‑making to improve responsibilities.
Promote customer satisfaction through communication, responsiveness, and quality workmanship for all direct reports.
Qualifications
Education requirement can be met through formal education or equivalent experience.
15+ years of experience in natural gas utilities or a related industry (e.g., oil & gas, construction, etc.).
5+ years of people and team leadership experience driving team performance, engagement, and accountability.
Thorough knowledge of diverse business functions and principles, particularly regulatory and compliance guidelines.
