JOB SUMMARY The Nanoscale Biophysics Laboratory (NBL) at Northeastern University is looking for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate to perform research at the interface of nanotechnology and biotechnology. The successful applicant will work on detection of peptides and proteins using novel nanopore devices that will be fabricated using cleanroom lithography methods, as well in the NBL dedicated maker space, and outside facilities. The postdoctoral associate will be responsible for carrying out experiments, training graduate students, data analysis, scheduled reporting to funding agency and/or collaborators, as well as participating in the laboratory duties. In this role it is critical that the successful candidate is an excellent communicator and has good organizational skills. The NBL is a ~15 member group which consists of researchers at all levels (undergraduate, graduate students, and postdocs). This is a full-time job and requires work on site. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES Performance of research including research design, implementation, and analysis/reporting (40%)
Training graduate students and undergraduate researchers on experimental methods of device fabrication, testing, and data management (30%)
Reporting and dissemination of date, including participating in group meetings, weekly one-on-one meetings with the PI, and presenting work at conferences and writing publications (25%); and
Lab organization, including ensuring that equipment and lab areas are in good working conditions (5%)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Degree – Minimum of PhD degree in Physics, Biology, Bioengineering, or Chemistry is required, or in a field that is relatable to the Nanoscale Biophysics Laboratory’s research areas.
Experience of at least 2-3 years in a relevant field is preferred.

Expected Hiring Range: $59,425.00 - $83,935.00
