Monday through Friday 7.5 hour work day with .5 hour unpaid lunch, Paid for time worked only Notes: Client does not provide laptops. Instead, they will provide desktops and dedicated workstations Candidates will use their own equipment’s when working remotely during the week.
Project Overview
This role supports the Canals Corporation Bicentennial and some COMPANY/Canals media and marketing.
Job Functions & Responsibilities
Identify and recommend brand-building areas for COMPANY and the New York State Canal Corporation. Assist in the design and implementation of integrated marketing strategies that align with overall business goals and brand positioning. Implement multi-channel marketing campaigns that effectively engage target audiences through digital, print, social media, email, events, and other relevant channels. Monitor and track lead engagement across marketing campaigns and events, ensuring data accuracy and updating lead statuses. Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Coordinate logistics and support the execution of in-person and virtual events, including pre-event planning, vendor management, and on-site or virtual support. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for integrated marketing and media relations initiatives. Interface across all levels of the company to research, prepare and edit social media content, blog articles, press releases, talking points, speeches, runs of show and other copy as needed. Support press conferences and provide talking points for COMPANY/Canals staff as needed. Prepare talking points or fact sheets for the COMPANY/Canals officials representing the Power Authority at events as needed.
Skills
Ability to work in a fast-moving, dynamic and team-oriented environment. Strong writing and editing skills, especially under tight deadlines, with particular expertise in handling various writing assignments, including press releases, briefing papers, speeches and broadcast scripts. Experience with layouts and graphic design. Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset. Up-to-date knowledge of marketing trends and best practices. Experience with marketing tools (e.g., email marketing, CRM, event platforms) and basic digital marketing principles. Ability to manage multiple projects, and prioritize work to align with business needs Experience with current marketing trends and best practices. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree required in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or relevant field. Minimum 5 years’ experience working in marketing and media relations preferred.
