The group designs ASICs for L2/L3 switch routing, supporting the latest networking protocols, features, and managing large volumes of traffic, up to several Terabits/sec. These networking ASICs support a wide range of ports from 10/100Mb/s to 800Gb/s, various line interfaces, protocols, and flexible packet processing. Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for key tasks in uArch and RTL design of advanced network switch/routing datapath designs. Daily tasks include, but are not limited to: Defining microarchitecture and implementing datapath designs for L2/L3 network switching and routing ASICs and subsystems. Collaborating with other design teams on microarchitecture definition and reviewing switch functions. Planning physical implementation of datapath blocks and initial floor planning. Developing Verilog RTL, conducting logic synthesis, and managing physical implementation constraints and static timing analysis. Working directly with the physical implementation team from initial floor planning to final timing closure. Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria: MS EE +10 years or BS EE +12 years or equivalent, with a focus on digital design and strong academic credentials. Deep knowledge of IC technology, ASIC design flows, EDA tools, and physical design considerations. Thorough understanding of high-speed Ethernet networking and CPU I/O bus technologies. Expertise in SystemVerilog, with extensive experience using simulators and waveform debugging tools. Proficiency in Perl, Python, or other scripting languages.
