Production Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor position supervises team members in the manufacturing operations of an assigned shift by assigning work ensuring targeted productivity levels are achieved. The supervisor provides hands-on supervision in training, achieving standardizations while maximizing optimal efficiencies levels of performance, follows work schedules, customer demands, and overall policies and procedures of the company.
Core Job Responsibilities: Directly supervises production staff that includes production, print, packer, lead, forklift driver and shift mechanic. Directly manages a workforce of approximately 25 to 35 hourly employees engaged in the manufacturing of foam cups, containers, lids, and / or straws. Complete quality, efficiency and production reports daily. Responsible for safely achieving established production schedules and efficiencies while monitoring equipment, processes and operating techniques on a continuous basis to assure quality standards are met. Coordinates with the maintenance department to maintain equipment and utilities in proper working condition and monitors to assure equipment is utilized in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures maximum use of raw materials while minimizing scrap levels to attain company standards. Provides accurate records of production, employee absenteeism, accidents, wage increases, vacations and overtime. Responsible for data input into computer programs/systems as required for records. Works with quality control team to ensure product quality and takes appropriate action(s) when necessary based on the information they provide. Conducts job, safety and ad-hoc training sessions with shift staff. Communicates and enforces company work rules, and policies including attendance. Enforces plant safety rules, housekeeping standards and employee work practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA/FDA regulations. Follow all GMP and sanitation guidelines. Performs annual performance evaluations of direct reports and shift employees. Responsible for controlling and monitoring attendance and punctuality of the entire shift. Works closely with Safety & Quality team to ensure safety and quality guidelines are sustained. Supports all current and new product demands. Works with all other departmental areas to maintain productivity and plant initiatives. Partners with STM leadership to ensure team collaboration including training methods that leads plant productivity. May participate in required audits. Follows WinCup Values, follows company procedures, GMP, and other related safety standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies: Problem Solving/Analysis Conflict Resolution Coaching and Discipline Communication Proficiency
Qualifications:
Education - High School Diploma or GED. Associates or Bachelor's Degree in business or equivalent work experience.
Experience - Two (2) years in a manufacturing environment, previous supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of processing time cards and initiating pay performance.
Skills - Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word). Good problem solving analysis skills. Knowledge of machine shop and inspection equipment. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Good oral and written communication skills, works well with others.
Pre-employment Requirements - Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
Physical Demands - Described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing duties of this job, employee is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach or grasp with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to extreme heat. Employee may also have occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection, and hair / beard net. Work a 12+ hour shift. Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
