Diamond Pet Foods is a family-owned business with their roots starting out in the mid-west since 1970. We are a leading manufacturer of premium pet food. At Diamond, we believe every pet, from purebred show animal to shelter puppy or kitten, is worthy of the best nutrition. We also believe every pet owner deserves a great value. We currently have 7 plants located within the United States. Our Frontenac, Kansas facility is now accepting applications for Full-Time Plant Technician positions (days and nights available) working 12-hour shifts, 6a to 6:20p and 6p to 6:20a. These positions will be trained in multiple areas of the plant to prepare for any openings that become available in the operations area of the plant.

- Work in multiple areas of the plant training in each area. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner. Assigned shift attendance is required. To work in all areas of packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being near, and crossing platforms over machinery. Ability to work as part of a team. Assist fellow employees as needed. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the duties and functions of the position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or GED Manufacturing experience is highly preferred Two years forklift operation in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to read and write English Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, GMP's, and general instructions Good communication skills are required PHYSICAL DEMANDS Be able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis Push/Pull up to 100 pounds on a routine basis Be able to climb and work in extreme heat or cold and on scaffolding at very high elevations
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
