Job Description
Summary
The Controller is responsible for the overall accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of financial results. Prepares financial statements to include balance sheets, statements of operations, statements of equity, and statements of cash flow; Leads initiatives with stakeholder groups to provide consistent alignment on cash flow expectation amounts and timing, identifies ongoing opportunities to optimize process; Creates insightful financial reporting and dashboards outlining revenue receivable projections in contrast with anticipated payable expenditures, regularly identifies areas of risk and opportunity; Ensures timely reconciliation of all general ledger accounts that underlie the financial statements; Manages the budgeting process and ensures that a timely and accurate budget is produced and approved by leadership inclusive of all supporting reports which summarize and forecast company financial business activity; Works with external auditors to lead the completion of all required audit reviews within the prescribed timelines. Manage the integrity of all corporate financial statements. Utilize any audit findings to constructively improve internal processes and procedures; Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations; Develop and implement standard accounting, controls, analysis and reporting procedures. Prepare related correspondence to various state and federal entities; Provides leadership guidance in support of complex client or stakeholder financial reporting production, delivery, and interpretation. Available to liaise with client stakeholders to provide additional support as needed; Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings; Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems. Ensure records are maintained in accordance with GAAP and/or other Company procedures
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages assigned staff in the segment area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports and enforces all company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, taking corrective action whenever necessary.
Client Responsibilities
This is an internal and external client facing position that requires excellent customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills (listening/verbal/written). One must be able to; manage difficult or emotional client situations; Respond promptly to client needs; Solicit client feedback to improve service; Respond to requests for service and assistance from clients; Meet commitments to clients.

Education and/or Experience
BA/BS Degree or equivalent; plus 10 years' related experience; 10 years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience); and 8 years supervisory experience; Supervisory experience may be substituted with ten (10) years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader at the Director level or above that must be completed within 12 months in new position.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP), and potentially database management
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant)
Other Skills and Abilities Accounting proficiency, data analysis, and knowledge of financial regulations
Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Skills Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Work Location
This position must work on-site at the Tempe facility for purposes of providing adequate support to internal clients; being available for face-to-face interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as for facilitation of quick and effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders. Remote work is not an option for these purposes.
Working Hours
This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonable meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business. Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Travel
This position requires no travel however attendance maybe required at various local conferences and meetings.
