We are seeking a highly qualified and compassionate child psychologist with extensive experience in MDT working, neuro‑developmental conditions and complex neuro‑disability to join our wonderful team at The Portland Hospital.
Responsibilities
Conduct psychological assessments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes.
Neuropsychology formulation, assessment and recommendations.
Develop an individualised treatment plan for each child and their families.
Education and support for families dealing with complex neuro‑disabilities or a new diagnosis.
Psychological consultation to colleagues in the multi‑disciplinary team.
Teaching and training.
Contribution to service developments.
Requirements
Must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a graduate degree in psychology, and a Ph.D. or.D. in clinical or child psychology.
Several years’ practical experience working with children with neurological deficit or within an ASD diagnostic service (ADOS trained desirable).
Approachable and empathic for children to be comfortable working with you.
Knowledgeable of different therapeutic methods and able to switch between different approaches to meet each child’s needs.
Excellent communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate with children of different ages and from different cultural and socio‑economic backgrounds.
Collaboration with MDT, therapy treating team and systems surrounding the child to provide a team‑based holistic approach to patient care.
