Manager - MEP Commissioning

Qualifications
7+ years of experience in commercial construction and/or MEP design, estimation, and construction.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
30‑hour OSHA certificate (desirable).
LEED‑accredited professional (desirable).
Familiarity with BIM (must).
Responsibilities
Manage end‑to‑end commissioning activities for new construction and retrofit projects.
Foster collaborative partnerships with architects, engineers, trade partners, and construction operations teams.
Execute and enforce project‑specific policies and procedures to support schedule adherence, contractual deliverables, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee coordination with quality control (QC) and MEP teams to ensure checklists, engineering documentation, and commissioning activities are completed per approved test scripts and commissioning plans.
Develop understanding of project milestones, client/CM contract requirements, and third‑party commissioning plans to support successful project turnover.
Integrate start‑up and commissioning timelines into overall project schedule.
Ensure adherence to the QC plan, confirming availability of resources, field documentation, and commissioning checklists before energization.
Represent the project team in start‑up and commissioning meetings, communicating QC plan execution and schedule status to stakeholders.
Assist in developing commissioning plans for MEP systems including testing requirements, inspections, factory startup, acceptance testing, documentation, and demonstration of operational readiness.
Provide on‑site construction support for MEP systems, overseeing startup, test & balancing, and commissioning, including owner training.
Assist in functional tests and verification procedures to ensure systems meet performance standards.
Maintain strong understanding of contract documents, specifications, drawings, submittals, and building codes.
Lead or support pre‑installation meetings with trade partners and vendors to communicate scope, expectations, and commissioning protocols.
Oversee execution of punch list prevention plan, working closely with project teams to resolve commissioning‑related deficiencies.
Coordinate and evaluate third‑party inspections and testing efforts, analyzing outcomes and facilitating corrective actions.
