Program Manager - Design Janicki Industries is an innovative, family‑owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. This position is located on‑site in Hamilton, Washington State.

The Program Manager is responsible for managing teams assigned to large customer programs or operation units within the company. This role requires expertise in company‑wide procedures, standards, and expectations, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and business growth.

In addition to managing project teams, the Program Manager plays a vital role in supporting and advancing product development, business systems optimization, and strategic initiatives. Responsibilities include coordinating cross‑functional collaboration, streamlining project workflows, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement, and building strong teams.

This position demands strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills to navigate complex engineering and manufacturing projects while ensuring alignment with company goals. The Program Manager fosters team development, provides mentorship, and maintains effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

Allocate and manage team resources, balancing workload efficiency and development

Lead cross‑functional project teams for key programs and oversee customer management

Conduct risk assessments, employ project management tools, and improve operational processes

Manage high‑level project planning, leverage company tools for scheduling and execution

Assist in developing and improving company products, processes, and procedures

Mentor team managers, conduct performance reviews, and guide professional growth

Actively engage in sales efforts and ensure customer satisfaction through relationship management

Demonstrate professionalism under pressure, managing deadlines efficiently

Maintain cooperative behavior, fostering collaboration with teams and leadership

Uphold punctuality and reliable attendance, recognizing both as essential to job performance

Perform additional responsibilities as required to support organizational success

Qualifications

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and require candidate agreement to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering‑related field required; master’s degree preferred

Minimum of 10 years of aircraft industry design experience in airframe/systems design and manufacturing

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive, inquisitive, and intuitive approach to challenges

Experience in building and managing engineering organizations to deliver technical designs and products that meet customer requirements

Practical aircraft understanding and passion for hands‑on work (pilot, homebuilding, A&P, RC, etc.) is preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise messaging

Exceptional project management abilities, demonstrated through a proven track record of successfully managing and executing projects to meet deadlines

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels

Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities with efficient and effective time management

High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with experience presenting to executives, managing customer relations, and negotiating contracts

Additional Information

Salary range for this role is between $115,000 - $150,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off‑shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job‑related and non‑discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.

This position is designated by Janicki as a safety sensitive position
