About the Role
Arcadis is the world’s leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. We are seeking an **Principal-level Landscape Architect** to join our growing Placemaking Practice Group in Coral Gable, Florida. This outward-facing, principal role requires a leader with strong client connections in the Miami‑South Florida area, a minimum of 15 years’ experience, and the ability to lead projects, teams, and business development initiatives.
In this key leadership position you will build and nurture a talented team, foster collaboration, and deliver creative solutions that address client needs and align with our placemaking vision. You will spearhead business development efforts, identify new opportunities and partnerships, and play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our Southeast placemaking strategy.
Role Accountabilities
Contribute to the formulation of a strategic growth plan for the region
Oversee staff and projects, maintaining financial performance metrics
Lead business development, identifying and cultivating new relationships, particularly in the South Florida market
Participate in identifying and targeting clients through the delivery of service excellence to drive organic revenue growth
Implement the business plan and ensure the team understands its purpose, fostering a culture of clarity and responsibility
Build strong relationships and create successful teams
Develop enduring client relationships to understand business needs and ensure satisfaction, improving retention and organic revenue growth
Identify and promote talent in both technical capability and sales, directing individuals to development programs
Participate in resource utilization decisions within the practice group
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the practice group’s clients and market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities
Collaborate across Arcadis to maximize cross‑sell opportunities within the organization
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, with a minimum of 15+ years of experience leading and managing complex landscape projects from concept to completion
Proven track record of delivering transformative placemaking projects for high‑profile or large‑scale clients in urban development, infrastructure, or mobility sectors
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to lead cross‑disciplinary teams, foster collaboration, and inspire innovation
Strong strategy, sales, and business development skills with existing connectivity in the Miami and South Florida market
Critical thinking skills that incorporate and blend innovative ideas in land use, landscape architecture, urban design, and planning for pedestrian‑centric environments
Excellent verbal, written, and graphical/visualization storytelling skills to convey ideas to clients, elected officials, managers, decision‑makers, and technical staff

Benefits & Compensation Benefits for full‑time and part‑time positions include medical, dental, vision, EAP, 401(k), STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional wellbeing benefits. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $110,000–$190,000.
