We are seeking a highly skilled
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
or
Structural Engineer (SE)
to join our expanding team. This role is ideal for an engineer who is confident in
structural inspections, special inspections, load evaluations, seismic assessments, facade inspections , and can
provide stamped drawings and reports
for residential, commercial, and mixed‑use projects across California.
This is a key hire as we continue to scale our engineering and inspection services throughout the Bay Area and California.
Responsibilities Structural Engineering & Plan Review
Prepare, review, and stamp structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
Perform analysis for wood, concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
Evaluate existing buildings for retrofit, alteration, or compliance upgrades.
Inspections
Perform all major structural inspections, including:
Foundation & slab inspections
Framing (wood & steel) inspections
Shear wall & lateral system inspections
Decks, balconies, cantilevers
Retaining walls
Post‑tensioned systems
Roof structure inspections
Conduct Special Inspections
Concrete placement
Welding & bolting
Masonry
High‑strength bolt inspections
Rebar, anchor bolts, epoxy installations
Structural steel
Provide clear, timely field reports with recommendations for corrections and compliance.
Facade Inspection Program (FIP) – California
Perform exterior wall and facade assessments in compliance with:
California SB 721 (Balcony & Elevated Exterior Elements Inspections)
California SB 326 (HOA Condo Exterior Elements Inspections)
San Francisco Existing Building Code (SF Building Façade Inspection Program)
Annual/periodic façade safety requirements
Produce stamped façade and exterior envelope reports with repair recommendations.
Client Communication & Coordination
Interface with architects, contractors, developers, HOAs, property owners, and city officials.
Provide expert guidance on permitting, code compliance, and structural feasibility.
Attend site visits throughout the Bay Area as needed.
Required Qualifications
BS or MS in Structural or Civil Engineering
(MS preferred).
Active California PE license required ;
SE license strongly preferred .
5+ years structural engineering experience
in design + inspections.
Deep understanding of
California Building Code (CBC) ,
IBC , and
ASCE 7 .
Experience performing or supervising
special inspections
under CBC Ch. 17.
Strong familiarity with
SB 326, SB 721 , and
California façade inspection compliance .
Ability to
stamp drawings and reports
as Engineer of Record when needed.
Strong communication, field documentation, and report‑writing skills.
Valid driver’s license + ability to travel locally for site visits.
Bonus Skills (Not Required but Highly Valuable)
Experience with retrofit and soft‑story upgrades.
Familiarity with FEMA P‑807, ATC‑20/45, and seismic assessment methodologies.
Experience working with contractors on design‑build projects.
Drone inspection capability.BIM / Revit proficiency.
