We partner with several well-known and highly regarded government healthcare agencies, such as the Department on Behavioral Health, the Department on Disability Services, and the National Institutes of Health.

MBI Health Services is looking for compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities. We currently have full-time (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM) and on-call shifts available in Washington, DC.
In this role, you'll make a direct impact by helping individuals with personal care, daily living skills, and community engagement in a supportive, home-like setting. Experience working with individuals who use wheelchairs or driving a handicap-accessible van is a plus, but not required. If you're patient, dependable, and ready to make a difference – you belong here.
Starting Pay: $17.95/hr.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist individuals with personal hygiene, daily living activities, and medication administration as directed
Create and maintain a safe, comfortable living environment for residents
Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in their homes
Accompany residents on community outings and recreational activities
Prepare nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping duties
Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring personalized support
Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain safety protocols
Complete accurate and timely documentation of client activities and progress
Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Immediately report any malfunction of equipment to the Residential Manager
Collect all mail from the properties relative to utility bills, court notices etc, and submit to Residential Manager
Ensure that during inclement weather and other emergencies all preventative and safety precaution activities are implemented as outlined in company policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Successfully complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Physical ability to assist with personal care and perform light housekeeping duties
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
Complete other trainings as required by stakeholders and management
Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
Cultural sensitivity and awareness
Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Emotional stability and resilience in a challenging work environment
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Commitment to ongoing professional development and training
