Forklift Operator (Direct Hire) - Opportunity at Nesco Resource
Location: City of Industry, CA
Pay: $19.91/hr - Direct Hire
Shift: Mon- Fri, 4am- 12:30 | Mon-Fri, 3pm- 11:30pm
Position Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator, where you’ll play a key role in receiving, staging, loading, repackaging, and transporting products while ensuring accurate inventory management. Key Responsibilities
Material Handling (10%) : Sort, load, unload, and stage materials using pallets, trays, racks, and shelves. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and conveyor belts to move supplies efficiently.
Inventory Verification (10%) : Check supplier counts, report discrepancies to carriers and supervisors, and secure loads with cranes or hoists for safe transport.
Order Fulfillment (10%) : Review production labels, customer orders, and shipping documents to gather, repack, or distribute items accurately.
Data Management (10%) : Use SAP and Microsoft Excel to prepare and record details of shipped or received items, ensuring seamless tracking.
Inventory Tracking (10%) : Gather and log inventory details (e.g., labels, receipt dates, lot numbers), verify shipments, inspect goods, and record products for accuracy.
Material Transport (10%) : Move materials from receiving or production areas to storage or designated locations with precision.
Quality Assurance (10%) : Verify merchandise against shipment records, inspect for defects, and report discrepancies to maintain high standards.
Inventory Audits (10%) : Conduct daily inventory counts, research discrepancies, and ensure stock accuracy.
Documentation (10%) : Complete forms like Inventory Disposition and Substitution logs, plus other duties as assigned to support team success.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish)
Three (3) months of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Accuterm, ROSS)
Previous forklift or pallet jack operation experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic computer skills with a knack for accuracy under pressure
Ability to work independently or collaboratively with a professional demeanor
Safe operation of power equipment
Excellent communication skills to thrive in a team setting
Working Environment
Flexible scheduling including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts
Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from -35°F to 95°F, occasionally exceeding 95°F
Physical Requirements
Regularly stand and use hands in repetitive motions; frequently walk, reach, and occasionally stoop, kneel, or crawl
Lift a minimum of 10 lbs; possess close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus
Work near moving parts, toxic chemicals, or airborne particles in a noise level ranging from office quiet to loud factory settings
