College/Department Information Student Counseling & Psychological Services (SCAPS) is here to help support the mental health of Augusta University students. We provide mental health services for currently enrolled Augusta University students in a safe environment to promote and preserve student wellness. We pursue our mission by delivering direct clinical care to students. In addition to brief therapy for individuals, group counseling, and crisis services, we also offer consultation, prevention and outreach initiatives, and advocacy. Our graduate‑level training program prepares future mental health professionals and supports AU's academic mission. We provide these services through the highest standards of practice, as guided by our professional and ethical codes of conduct. We help students better understand themselves, others, and the world around them so that they can make intentional and informed choices that facilitate wellness.
Job Summary Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine and non‑routine clerical and administrative duties in support of an office or department. Work requires knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and decision‑making within well‑established guidelines.
Responsibilities
RECEPTIONIST:
Greet visitors, answer telephone, provide correct responses to a variety of questions (routine and non‑routine) about the office or department's operations or policies, and direct customers to the appropriate resource when questions exceed knowledge.
CORRESPONDENCE:
May open and distribute incoming correspondence, check and compare with previous communication, compose routine correspondence, format and type documents, proofread and edit draft material, determine priority of incoming material, and route to appropriate personnel.
CALENDAR MAINTENANCE:
May maintain a supervisor and/or department's calendar, schedule meetings, make travel arrangements, process travel reimbursements, and other forms incidental to these responsibilities.
PREPARE WRITTEN AND PRESENTATION MATERIALS:
May prepare written and presentation materials for superiors, gather and compile information, perform calculations. May prepare spreadsheets or other reports or presentation materials such as PowerPoint, and otherwise assist in the development of narrative information and graphic displays.
GENERAL SECRETARIAL:
Perform responsible secretarial, clerical, and administrative duties associated with assigned department which may include preparing bills, coordinating test preparation and creation, maintaining patient records, etc.
RECORDS MAINTENANCE:
May maintain operational, budget, personnel, and other administrative records; initiate, complete, and review forms, log, file, and/or enter information in a computer requiring knowledge of simple to advanced database systems and strong attention to detail; retrieve information and audit records for accuracy and completeness.
PURCHASING:
May initiate purchase requisitions and coordinate with the purchasing office as appropriate. Gather data and/or prepare routine information related to purchasing office related supplies and equipment. Initiate facilities management work orders as necessary.
OTHER DUTIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and a minimum of one year of office support experience.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a higher education setting and experience working with college students.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Skills Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
