Job Summary
Under the supervision of the IMH and Family Services Coordinator, the Recovery Support Worker will engage women who have participated in the Women’s Way program—including those who leave prior to completion—to support ongoing activities that promote family recovery. The role provides person-centered case management services such as referrals, transportation, utilization of community resources, daily living skills coaching, and family engagement group facilitation.
Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma with at least 2 years of experience in a behavioral health field. Associate’s degree in human services preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to conduct outreach/home visits.
Essential Functions
- Engage families who leave Women’s Way residential treatment in recovery support activities, including:
- Supporting infant mental health and family support services through FTS or other family strengthening programs.
- Reestablishing family connections to sponsor/sober support and additional healthy recovery relationships.
- Connecting families to 12‑step meetings, support groups, spiritual fellowships, etc.
- Identifying with clients their family goals, anticipating and addressing stressors that might lead to family distress.
- Establishing connections for families to additional therapy, medical care, substance use treatment, housing, childcare, and other services that support family stability.
- Utilizing harm reduction, motivational counseling, and person-centered principles in work with families.
- Transporting clients to critical appointments.
- Participating in outreach/home visiting services with the Intake and Admissions Outreach Worker to assist families awaiting admission into treatment.
- Facilitating outpatient and residential psychoeducational classes to build professional relationships with residents of Women’s Way.
- Maintaining program data and submitting monthly program reports to Administration in accordance with contract requirements.
- Participating in quarterly quality review of records and maintaining timely, accurate client documentation while following quality improvement corrective action plans.
Additional Employee Responsibilities At FTS
- Regular attendance and notification of absences at least 3 hours before shift start or requests to flex schedule after proper approval.
- Use TSA-approved communication devices only (work email and phone); respond to calls/texts/emails within 24 business hours.
- Follow agency procedures for handling all Emergency Response Codes promptly.
- Participate in mandatory FTS trainings and quarterly staff meetings.
- Complete annual health evaluation and TB clearances per OHCA licensing regulations and provide documentation to Administration.
- Maintain work area neat, orderly, and sanitary.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned to meet program needs.
