Overview Stantec is seeking a creative and motivated professional to support our Multimodal Planning Group in Raleigh, North Carolina. You will work with industry‑leading transportation planners, designers and engineers, focusing on system‑level transportation planning and data analysis. Candidates should have a background in community planning (CTPs/LRTPs/MTPs, Bike/Ped Master Plans, etc.), engineering, landscape architecture or urban design, be willing to travel and ideally hold a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis and summary of data, including US Census, crash records, or performance monitoring resources
Technical writing and summary of project record notes/files
Report layout and editing in Adobe InDesign
Map creation or analysis with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online
Development of transportation planning projects, feasibility studies, and reporting
Assist with facilitation of public workshop events and client meetings
Help lead the Multimodal Planning Group through technical skillset and mentorship
Perform planning and/or design duties as needed for projects
Capabilities and Credentials
Strong oral and written communication skills
Self‑motivated and highly organized
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel)
Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp and/or ArcGIS Desktop software (preferred)
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software such as Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator
Comprehensive approach to challenges and problem‑solving
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s in Engineering or Planning with a transportation concentration; a master’s degree is a plus
Minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation planning
Work Environment The role involves typical office work with computers and remains sedentary for long periods of time. Flexibility to work from the office or from home. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Pay Transparency In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary Regular full‑time and part‑time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short‑term/long‑term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
