Event/Program Management and Execution
Coordinate with venues, liaise with speakers, and manage day‑of execution for a variety of alliance group events and programs.
Serve as the alliances point of contact for all event partnerships and collaborations with other internal and external teams.
Design and implement creative marketing campaigns to promote alliance events.
Oversee event sponsorship and fundraising campaigns.
Communications and Data Management
Manage websites, social media, newsletters, and other communications efforts for select alliance groups.
Create registration pages and promotional graphics for a variety of events and programs.
Partner with teams across the Office of Advancement and other on‑campus offices to cross‑promote and cross‑program events and other initiatives.
Track event data, alumni engagement, and other alliance activities in Salesforce.
Analyze current alliance engagement efforts and existing data to identify opportunities to expand the reach and depth of alumni engagement in alliance groups.
Volunteer Management and Other Duties
Meet regularly with alliance group leaders to provide guidance, governance support, and direction.
Work with the Director of Alumni Alliance Engagement to manage and partner with volunteer boards to drive forward each alliance group’s strategic plan.
Assist the Director of Alumni Alliance Engagement in implementing a multi‑year strategy for existing and prospective alliance groups.
Assist in staffing select signature events within the Georgetown University Alumni Association and Office of Advancement.
Hire and supervise one student worker per semester, working on other duties as assigned.
Work Interactions This position serves as a member of the Office of Advancement and reports to the Director of Alumni Alliance Engagement, who reports to the Senior Director of Alumni Alliance & Affinity Engagement. This position will work closely with alumni volunteers within specific alliance groups. They will interact regularly with alumni volunteers and/or staff from the following teams: Georgetown University Alumni Association, Regional Clubs, Alumni Career Services, Alumni Affinity Groups, and other on‑campus offices. Additionally, this position will interact with Development Officers to engage and/or inform potential prospects.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
3–5 years of experience in higher education, alumni relations, nonprofit organization, and/or a related field
Proven success conceptualizing, planning, and executing events and programs
Experience with online marketing and promotion for events and programs
Experience managing volunteers and partnering effectively with diverse professionals and personalities
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to adapt communication style for various audiences
Creative thinker with demonstrated experience implementing innovative ideas and strategies
Strong organizational skills, with ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
The highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and emotional intelligence
Willingness and ability to travel with some frequency to select cities (mostly U.S.)
Willingness to work occasionally on nights/weekends
Familiarity and interest in the unique culture and traditions of Georgetown University
Preferred Qualifications
Background or interest in entrepreneurship, entertainment & media, technology, or financial services
Experience running and growing social media accounts for a company or organization, including content creation
Experience supervising interns or student workers
Familiarity with Canva or other tools to create promotional graphics
Familiarity with Salesforce
